Also known as Mark Leishman and Nic Leary..... we now live in Rotorua, and spend all our 'spare' time (and money we don't actually have) racing whatever exciting events we stumble across. MTB/XTERRA/Road Cycling/Triathlon/Multisport/Motorcycling.....

Mark 'Cabin' Leishman

Age: 30
Lives: Raetihi
Occupation: Cycling Development Manager (BikeNZ) & Coach
Interests: Coffee, Supporting other kiwi sportspeople, and... sleeping.

Cabin is one of the highest profile, most recognised and respected MTB athletes in NZ. He is a quadruple NZ representative, having competed in World Championships in XC and Marathon MTB, Triathlon, and XTERRA off-road triathlon. He has also been called on to race internationally for professional adventure racing teams.

One of the most busy, and consistent athletes in NZ. He has already competed, in 17 events in 2009 (Jan-April). Achieving podium finishes in 16 of those.

Nic Leary

Age: 25
Lives: Raetihi
Occupation: Physiotherapist
Interests: The farm, hunting, and snowboarding

Nic is one of NZ's most exciting MTB prospects. Relatively new to the sport, she has already achieved NZ #2 rankings in both XC and Marathon MTB. As well as winning the NZ XTERRA Championship.

The quintessential kiwi farm girl, Nic enjoyed a varied and successful sporting history. An Otago rugby representative at University, Nic states it was her 'failure to grow upward, or outward' that led to an interest in endurance sports.

After watching her first MTB race in February 2007, Nic soon knew that was what she wanted to do. A determined, focussed individual, Nic is now chasing an Olympic berth in 2012.
