Green Prescription - Weekly Activity Classes

Sport Manawatu's Green Prescription Programme

Green Prescription classes are run in seven centres throughout the Sport Manawatu region. Each class promotes the importance of health and physical activity through discussions on topics such as diabetes, motivation and healthy eating. Activity options include a range of exercises from walking, aqua and the gym.

The Green Prescription Team at Sport Manawatu look forward to working with you in 2015 to help you achieve your health and fitness goals. 

Term 3, 2015 Green Prescription classes are currently in session. Feel free to click on the class schedule links below to find out what is happening in each session.

Dannevirke

Dannevirke- unfortunately, due to low participation numbers, this weekly class has been suspended until further notice.
Our Tararua clients are now offered individual 'Phone Support'. After initial contact an  appointment (ideally face to face) is scheduled to discuss how we can best support each client with the service provided. This is then followed up with monthly phone calls to keep track of each clients progress.

Feilding

Feilding- Classes meet every Thursday (during the school term)  at 9:45am in the Community House on Manchester St Feilding next to the Council offices. Each class has a guest speaker and activities include aqua aerobics, walking and gym exercises.

Foxton

Foxton- unfortunately, due to low participation numbers, this weekly class has been suspended until further notice

Levin lake

Levin- Classes are held every Monday (during the school term)  at 11am in the Levin Aquatic Centre, Levin. Each class discusses ways to improve your health with physical activity options of deep water jogging, swimming, walking and resistance band exercises.

Otaki Beach

Pahiatua

Pahiatua- unfortunately, due to low participation numbers, this weekly class has been suspended until further notice

Turbines

PN - Currently three classes operate in Palmerston North  two of which are  based at the Rosecity Aquatic clubrooms next to the Lido on Park Rd. A day time class runs every Tuesday (during the school term) at 10:15am and an evening class runs every Thursday (during the school term) at 6:15pm. We also offer a Wednesday morning class based at the Barber Hall on Waldegrave Street.
