Benefit to coaches

The Coaches Count programme ensures that coaches in Manawatu, Tararua and Horowhenua receive the following:

  • Approximately 30 sport-specific learning opportunities covering a variety of levels, sports and topics.
  • Up to date sport-specific coaching information and resources from regional sports organisations and national sports organisations.

How is the programme funded?

The Eastern and Central Community Trust (ECCT) funds the Coaches Count programme within Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua while Sport and Recreation New Zealand (SPARC) funds CoachForce - the nationwide coach development and support delivery mechanism.

The ongoing funding from ECCT and SPARC ensures the continued growth of the Coaches Count programme and, consequently, further improvements around coach development and support.
