Kiwi's are an active nation and there's nothing we like more than getting outside to play sport or other forms of active recreation. However, we are also required to work. Active workplaces allow us to foster an environment of activity while in our places of employment.
The average fulltime worker will spend over half of their waking hours at their place of work. Studies show that an individual who is regularly active has a better level of health and fitness. Moreover, a healthy employee is happier in their work, gets along better with co workers and is more productive. Because of this, work should be a place that encourages activity and movement.
Sport Manawatu provides activity opportunities and programmes to help work places, employers and employees become active and maintain a regular level of activity. Whether joining a sports club, putting in a touch work team, promoting cycling to work or encouraging lunch time walks, Sport Manawatu has a programme suitable for your workplace.
