iMove Parsons Ave

Parsons Avenue Kindergarten

Parents, teachers and children from Parsons Avenue Kindergarten say they aren't afraid of a bit of rain.  Every Thursday at 8.30am a group meets at Jubilee Park and walks the kilometre to the kindergarten €“ rain or shine.  Since starting the programme in early 2009, they have only missed two Thursdays. Head Teacher Anne Jakeman says that was because there was hail and thunder outside.

Ruahine School

Ruahine School

Ruahine School, a rural school just out of Dannevirke, iMoves through their cycling group called the Ruahine RIG (Riding in Groups).  Every Friday, students that would like to participate meet at one of the three different meeting points in the district. From there, they all bike the rural roads in a group to school.  Some of the groups cycle up to 15km to get to school!  Each group is supervised by teachers and/or parent volunteers who ride with the children to ensure they are safe.
