Get Active August! With Tarsh from Sport Tararua
If you want ideas on how to get active, you've come to the right place!
Get active sport: Basketball. Basketball is a fantastic fast-paced sport that involves a lot of starting and stopping. It’s a great way to have fun with colleagues and family. While not renowned as an aerobic sport, it is still a great workout that can help you build endurance and stay fit. Although official games of basketball require 10 players, you can play a game of basketball with just one other person. You can also go out and shoot baskets by yourself. If you want to play basketball competitively, you can become a member of a team and get involved in local competition.
So if you’re like me and interested in playing this season, Jamie Hape at Te Kete Hauora o Rangitane is organising a local competition for both men and women; starting Friday August 10, 2012 at the Dannevirke Sports Centre. Get active tip: Take charge of your destiny! “Everything happens for a reason. I’m used to it, I prepare for it. Like I say, at the end of the day, those in charge of their own destiny are going to do what’s right for them and their family.” Basketball Quote by Shaquille O’Neal (born March, 1972)
