Commonwealth Games success and options for winter exercise

  The Commonwealth Games are a pivotal event for many athletes across the world and I have had the privilege of being involved with the New Zealand team for three separate Games. TOP TARARUA SPORTSPEOPLE CELEBRATED AT ANNUAL AWARDS

Friday night saw the celebration of the Tararua region’s top sportspeople at the Downer Tararua Sports Awards, held at the Dannevirke Town Hall. The evening celebrated and recognised the achievements over the last two years. Taking out the Downer Supreme Sportsperson of the Year was water sports star, Anne Cairns. Cairns, who represented Samoa at the 2016 Rio Olympics, is also the first female to represent New Zealand across four disciplines: Wildwater kayaking, Sprint Flatwater Kayaking, Whitewater Rafting and Waka Ama. Finalists Announced for the Downer Tararua Sports Awards

  An impressive list of local sportspeople have been named as finalists for this year’s Downer Tararua Sports Awards. The biennial sporting awards, organised by Sport Manawatu, provides the opportunity to celebrate and recognise the success of local athletes, coaches, clubs, administrators and officials from the Tararua District. Looking to the Future with new Sports House

On Saturday, it's time for the annual Humphries Construction Whānau Tri at Ongley Park and the Lido Aquatic Centre in Palmerston North.
