2024 New Zealand Gymnastics Championships: Showcasing Talent in Palmerston North

The 2024 New Zealand Gymnastics Championships are taking place at the Central Energy Trust Arena in Palmerston North during the second week of the October school holidays. From Tuesday, 8 October, to Saturday, 12 October, athletes from across the country will compete in this prestigious event, following a training day on Monday, 7 October. This year, for the first time, all gymnastics codes will compete under one roof, promising an action-packed week of sporting excellence.

The Central Energy Trust Arena, a world-class venue at the heart of Palmerston North, is well-known for hosting a range of sporting, cultural, and corporate events. This week, it will provide a spectacular stage to showcase New Zealand’s best gymnastics talent, with spectators eagerly awaiting to see the country’s top athletes in action.

“We are thrilled to host such a significant event for the gymnastics community here in Palmerston North and excited to see Palmerston North once again play a pivotal role in promoting sport at the national level,” says Kelly Shanks, Chief Executive of Sport Manawatū.

The XP New Zealand Gymnastics Championships 2024 is made possible through funding from Palmerston North City Council's Sports Event Partnership Fund, which is administered by Sport Manawatū. The fund plays a key role in bringing high-profile events to the city, further cementing Palmerston North as a hub for sport and recreation.

The championships are not only an opportunity for athletes to showcase their talent but also a chance for the community to come together and celebrate the spirit of sport. Spectators are encouraged to head to the Central Energy Trust Arena throughout the week to witness some of the country's finest gymnastics in action.
