GET ACTIVE
Welcome to the 2026 Workplace Challenge!
Over the next four weeks, whether you’re taking part as a team or going solo, it’s all about challenging yourself to get moving in the most exciting way possible! We’re once again teaming up with our local tech legends at Nodero, who power the awesome digital activity tracker you’ll use throughout the challenge.
This year’s theme is YOUR WORKPLACE. YOUR CHALLENGE. YOUR MOVEMENT and we mean it… every movement counts! Use the Sport Manawatū conversion chart on your activity tracker to turn your biking, gym workouts, swimming, pilates, and so much more into steps. Rack up those points, keep the momentum going, and watch yourself climb that leaderboard!
Respectful banter is expected and encouraged. The most important thing is to be active and have fun while doing it!
I can't login to the activity tracker
Ensure you are using the email address that was entered when you registered.
What's with the "one-time code"?
If you’re getting asked for a code every time you log in, you’re not alone - but don’t worry, here’s what’s going on and how to fix it:
Quick tips:
How do I access the Facebook group?
Simply join the private Facebook group (don’t forget to agree to the rules and answer the question when you request to join!). It’s where we’ll post updates, celebrate wins, and share challenge info. We’d love you to share your activity here too!
Once you complete a Challenge Booster, post a photo or selfie in the group as proof and then you can tick it off in the tracker.
We respect your privacy. During the Challenge, your first name and team name might appear on the leaderboard. If you’d rather keep a low profile, just let us know.
This year we’re bringing back Wheels Week! We’re encouraging all modes of wheeling, whether you’re cycling to work, scootering to the shops, or jumping on one of the kids’ skateboards for a bit of fun.
Building on our Weekly Challenge Booster “Ditch the Car,” we’re challenging you to choose your bike or scooter instead of hopping into the car. It’s a simple way to contribute to a healthier planet and cleaner air and it boosts your mood, keeps you active, and helps you explore your city like never before!
Whether it’s your daily commute or a whānau weekend adventure, swapping four wheels for two is a win for both you and the environment.
This week will happen during second week of the challenge (11-17th)
How to Earn Points:
Here you can check out the guide to Palmy’s city pathways to find your next adventure!
This year Sport Manawatū is running Palmy’s first-ever Glow Walk on 22 May! Gather your whānau, dress up in your brightest gear, and let’s light up the river path together. Earn your weekly challenge booster points, and don’t forget to post a photo in the WPC Facebook group so we can see your glow!
More information can be found here.
1. Stretch & Reset
Organise a quick stretch or yoga session with your team in the office.
A simple way to reset your body and boost wellbeing during the workday.
2. Walk and Wheels Week!
During Walk and Wheels Week, use active transport to get to work or another destination you’d usually drive to!
Walking, running, cycling, scootering, skateboarding, roller skating, it all counts.
You’ll collect these points individually. Live rurally? There are still plenty of ways to actively travel: walk to lunch, park your car 1km away from work, or choose a short active journey during your day.
3. Fuel Up
Share a healthy snack with your team!
Ideally, the whole team joins in, but we know that’s not always possible.
So you earn the points when you bring in the healthy kai!
4. Game On
Organise any fun, active, or playful activity with your colleagues!
It doesn’t have to be big, just something that gets people moving.
Ideas include deskercise, a mini obstacle course, paper toss challenge, hallway relays, or anything creative you come up with.
5. Active Break
Use your morning tea or lunch break to get those extra steps in as a team!
Or turn your meetings into a walking hui to get your legs moving and boost your brain with fresh oxygen.
6. Give Back
Volunteer your time or contribute towards a good cause.
Ideas include starting a food collection bin at work, volunteering for Meals on Wheels, helping at a rest home, donating gear using the Replay NZ bins, or doing something kind for someone outside your team who deserves it.
7. Try Something New
This year is all about movement, so try a new way to move!
Give a new online workout a go, try a new sport, Pilates or yoga, or learn a new active skill (like a ball trick or balance challenge).
8. Help the World Breathe
Gardening is one of the most popular ways to stay active!
Plant something with your team (or individually) herbs, shrubs, flowers, crops, or trees all count towards this challenge.
9. Light Up the River Path!
Attend Palmy’s first ever Glow Walk organised by Sport Manawatū on 22 May.
Bring your whānau or team and get your steps in while enjoying a fun, glowing night out!
For more information, check our Sport Manawatū website or Facebook page.
10. Fresh Air
Step outside for 10 minutes of fresh air during your workday!
Walk, stretch, breathe, or simply reset outside, solo or with a colleague.
A small break can bring great benefits.
