This summer, we celebrated the real stories behind movement across our region. From early-morning walkers and weekend sport lovers to people who simply feel better after getting outside, you shared what truly moves you.
We were blown away by the variety of reasons submitted. Some were heartfelt, some were funny, and many were deeply personal. Together, they paint a powerful picture of what movement looks like in our communities and why it matters.
The What Moves You? campaign has now closed, and we will be drawing the winner of the $250 Move Your Way prize pack shortly. We will also be featuring selected stories across our channels throughout 2026, using your voices to inspire others and help guide our work.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to share their story and be part of this campaign.
Check out the videos below of our staff and stakeholders as they share what moves them.
Eligibility: Entry is open to residents of Palmerston North, Manawatū, Tararua, and Horowhenua aged 18 years and over. Sport Manawatū employees and their families may enter but are not eligible to win the prize.
How to Enter: Entrants must submit their reason for being active using the official online form between 1 December 2025 and 31 January 2026. Multiple entries are permitted.
Use of Stories, Images, and Videos: By ticking the consent box on the form, entrants agree that Sport Manawatū may use their story, first name, and any supplied images or videos for promotional and reporting purposes.
Prize Draw: One winner will be selected in early February 2026 and will choose one of three Move Your Way prize pack options valued at $250. The winner will be contacted directly via email. If we cannot make contact within seven days, a new winner will be selected.
