Active Communities Fund

Established by the Palmerston North City Council, the Active Communities Fund is here to help people in Palmerston North who are going through tough times financially. It’s for individuals, families, children, and young people who need support to take part in local sport or physical activity.

It can help with things like joining a local club, class, or activity. It does not cover representative costs (e.g. travel to rep/high level competitions, or high-performance programmes, etc.).

The fund aims to remove barriers to participation through the provision of:

• Activity-related costs (e.g. registration fees or programme costs).
• Basic equipment, clothing, or footwear required to participate.
• Facility or venue fees.
• Entry-level coaching in a one-on-one or small group setting.
