Sport Manawatū welcomes new Chief Executive

The Sport Manawatū Board are pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Shanks (Isles) to the role of Chief Executive.

Sport Manawatū Board Chair, Nathan Hopcroft said he was delighted to announce that Kelly would be stepping into the role.

“I’m pleased that Kelly has accepted the role. Her appointment is testament to the depth of leadership talent we have within the Sport Manawatū team. Kelly’s wide experience and achievements will be an asset to the sector,” says Nathan.

Prior to joining Sport Manawatū, Kelly has built a strong track record in directorship with THINK Hauora and Te Whatu Ora – MidCentral (formally MidCentral District Health Board) as well as her previous time with Sport Manawatū from 2010-2015 as General Manager.

Kelly said she was thrilled to have been appointed to the position, and was looking forward to leading the team, and embarking on the next phase of growth.

“Sport Manawatū has built a strong foundation for positive community outcomes through play, active recreation, and sport. I am looking forward to continuing this momentum and lead our team towards making a positive impact for our community,” says Kelly.

As CEO for Sport Manawatū, Kelly will lead the implementation of the Sport Manawatū Strategic Plan and be a key player in ensuring the health and wellbeing of the wider Sport Manawatū whānau continues to be supported.

Kelly will take up her new role on 31 October 2022.
