Sport Manawatū Board Reappointed at Annual General Meeting

Sport Manawatū held its Annual General Meeting on Monday 29 September 2025, celebrating another year of progress, connection, and impact across our region.

The Board remains unchanged for the year ahead, continuing to provide strong leadership and governance for the organisation. Lynley Montgomery will remain as Chair, supported by Renee Schalkwijk as Deputy Chair. The remainder of the Board includes Nathan Hopcroft, Sandra Lynch, Jeremy Hapeta, Natasha Gattsche, Carl Netzler, and Shane Telfer.

The Board expressed immense pride in Sport Manawatū’s achievements over the past year, acknowledging the dedication of the team and the collective mahi that continues to strengthen participation, wellbeing, and community outcomes across the region.

“Our Board is committed to ensuring Sport Manawatū continues to thrive and deliver positive impact for our communities,” says Chair Lynley Montgomery. “We’re proud of what has been accomplished and will continue to work with our communities to support them to be active in these challenging times.”

The Board would like to acknowledge and thank Te Pae Oranga o Ruahine o Tararua for their continued partnership and appointment of Dr Jeremy Hapeta.  

 

The Board brings a wealth of experience and continuity to the organisation:

  • Sandra Lynch joined in 2020
  • Jeremy Hapeta joined in 2021 (appointed by Te Pae Oranga o Ruahine o Tararua )
  • Natasha Gattsche (previously Bailey) joined in 2021
  • Lynley Montgomery joined in 2023
  • Renee Schalkwijk joined in 2024
  • Carl Netzler joined in 2025
  • Shane Telfer joined in 2025

 

With the reappointment of the current Board, Sport Manawatū enters the new year with stability, shared purpose, and continued momentum toward its vision of Everyone Active.
