From 2 – 9 March 2026, colourful sport themed rocks are hiding across eight of Palmy’s parks and reserves. Can you find them all?

The Great Palmy Rock Hunt is your excuse to get outside, get moving and see your local spaces in a whole new way. Whether you’re strolling, scootering, biking or power walking like you’re on a mission, every park holds the possibility of discovery.

Here’s how it works:

1. Download the Rock-Locating Map here
2. Head out to one of the featured parks or reserves
3. Keep your eyes peeled for a hidden Sport Manawatū rock
4. When you find one, take it to Esplanade Mini Golf
5. Redeem your prize and celebrate your win

Each rock is hand painted and sport themed, so no two are quite the same. Some might be easy to spot. Others… let’s just say you’ll need your best detective skills.

Make a day of it. Pack a picnic. Challenge another family. Set yourself a “find one a day” goal. However you do it, it’s all about getting active together and having a bit of fun along the way.
